Thank you for attending
The 2nd annual
Thanksgiving  Day  Bemis  Bowl!

Dear Team Bemis Community:
After a morning of family, friends, football, and plenty of fun, we are proud to call the second annual Thanksgiving Day Bemis Bowl a stellar success! With nine additional teams in participation and the inclusion of a new PowderPuff league, our Bemis Bowl was larger than ever this year. Estimates put attendance levels well over 1,500 people at this event. Collectively, the community donated over $7,500 for an educational fund to be set aside for the Bemis children. First of all, a huge thank you to Katie Meyer and Pam Meyer, who did a tremendous job in co-chairing this event. The Bemis Bowl would not be possible without these selfless individuals and all of their generously donated time.  Katie, a graduate of the Class of 2010, continues to set the bar higher and higher for this event, with more teams and larger rosters, in an effort to allow as many people to participate as possible.
Thank you to Mike Harvey for the Bemis Bowl pictures!
We would like to thank Mike Nemeth and those who helped him set up the football fields on Thanksgiving morning—without each of you, this event would not have been possible. We are appreciative of your time, dedication, and outpouring of support for our campaign and our tournament. Mr. Nemeth and his wife were also generous enough to host the Team Bemis Kick-Off Party at their restaurant, Lush Burger, on Thanksgiving Eve.  This is sure to become a fantastic tradition- a place for family, friends and alumni to catch up and reconnect prior to the Bemis Bowl. We are always mindful to thank our very own Arizona Cardinals for their solidarity and support. Big Red and the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders were in attendance at the Bemis Bowl thanks to Cardinals representatives Adam Richman and Luis Zendejas. They arrived with the team ice cream truck and gave out free ice cream to all event spectators. Thank you to the Arizona Cardinals for always standing with Team Bemis! We are grateful to  Lin Sue Cooney and the entire 12 News staff for being gracious enough to cover the Bemis Bowl on the evening news again this year. A shout-out is also due to Just Chilly and the radio crew at 101.5 JAMZ for giving our story an extensive amount of press in the days leading up to the tournament. To the volunteer photographers and videographers who graciously documented the day, we are sincerely appreciative.
Additionally, we would like to thank the entire NDP Community for their continued support of the Bemis Bowl.  A special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. King and the collective cafeteria staff for their generous contributions and thoughtfulness toward Team Bemis. We are blessed and thankful to have such a wonderful community at NDP. We are especially grateful for the outstanding enthusiasm that is demonstrated for this annual football tradition by everyone at NDP, including teachers, coaches, staff, students, and alumni; it is truly inspiring.
Saving best for last, our gratitude goes out to the countless supporters, participants, players, donors, referees and volunteers of the Bemis Bowl—thank you for making Thanksgiving morning bigger than ever this year. Our students and young adults are those that will be carrying this event forward; thank you for attending this event, bringing your families, and setting a standard of excellence for Team Bemis.
We envision the Bemis Bowl to continue as a tradition for years to come. As there are only two grades of Notre Dame students left that are truly familiar with Coach Bemis and his story, the entire alumni base must come together and do their part in keeping this tradition alive and educating others on Coach Bemis and his legacy.
Over time, the Bemis Bowl will likely become a significant and welcomed tradition in our community—it is your job to keep the tournament in the context of its original intentions: to celebrate Scot Bemis, a champion of life. Football was a game he loved, and Team Bemis is the sum of every student, player, and person that he impacted. In the end, Team Bemis is your organization, and the Bemis Bowl is your event. We welcome and encourage all of you to get involved to help carry this tradition forward, with integrity and responsibility, in honor of its namesake.
Finally, congratulations to our winning teams, Team 2009 of the Alumni League, Team 2013 of the High School League, and Queen Weez of the PowderPuff League.  Bragging rights are officially bestowed upon all three teams and their respective players. The trophy will be updated soon and placed back in its case for all to enjoy.
From the heart of Team Bemis, we thank all of you for coming together to help build this meaningful football tradition. We hope to see each of you back next year and encourage all of you to get involved and "Get After It."
Wishing each of you a blessed holiday season. Sincerely, Tro Panosian Team Bemis
